Super excited for the Winter Solstice party at the Lab, featuring artwork from Emily Underwood and Taylor Coble! Join us Friday, December 21st from 6-10pm for an evening of art, local seasonal food, cocktails and tunes!
About the artists:
“Three years ago I picked up a camera, and it has since become an extension of my very being. Searching for truth via street photography is a restless and often lonely journey. It’s capturing a frozen moment in time, hoping to convey a compelling visual story, in fact. But it’s important to remember that a fact is not necessarily a truth! I think the truth lies somewhere in the perception and emotion of each individual viewer.”— Taylor Coble. Check out more of his work @coblephotography.
Emily Underwood is a Cachagua artist inspired by the landscapes of California and everything that lives and grows on them. She creates art to convey her enthusiasm for the natural world, blending her background in both science and art. She has a particular interest in depicting the various landforms, plant communities and natural gardens of California. In her paintings, she distills the landscape to create compositions that emphasize form and color. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries and has been an artist-in-residence with the National Park Service, the Forest Service and the Elkhorn Slough Foundation.
